My Background and Approach
I use a collaborative approach to serve teens and adults to create positive change. I support clients in identifying and meeting goals, including: improving communication, reducing symptoms of depression or anxiety, increasing confidence, navigating big decisions and life transitions. I treat teens around issues including healthy relationships, peer conflict, communication, boundary setting, peer pressure & substance use and growing up! I am skilled in supporting LGBTQ+ and trans/nonbinary teens in exploring identity, self-expression, and navigating challenges such as coming out and discrimination. For over 20 years, I’ve worked in nonprofit and healthcare settings in various roles and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2014. I use an eclectic approach that draws from multiple interventions including: Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am motivated by helping clients improve their lives and experience joy. As a social worker, I follow the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers. I am deeply committed to social justice, enhancing quality of life, and honoring the inherent dignity and worth of every individual. I practice from a trauma-informed orientation and utilize harm-reduction principles.
