About My Clients
My ideal clients like to blend the creative, intellectual and spiritual. They like a lovingly direct approach and are interested in getting comfortable so we can talk about tough things. They also like to laugh, find connection in the human experience and feel protected in the work we do together.
My Background and Approach
I'm licensed as a marriage and family therapist in both CA and MI. I'm also a registered art therapist and use expressive techniques when my clients are open to it. I have extensive experience with trauma, relationships, challenges unique to young adulthood, difficult family relationships, non-traditional therapies, holistic approaches etc. I started in underserved communities and with children experiencing abuse and neglect and systemic trauma before branching out of those systems where I felt I could do the most good.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe I need to do my part in being a welcoming human. I'm proud to include people from all walks of life in my personal and professional life and see lifelong learning and inquiry essential to trying to get even the faintest handle on the human condition. Luckily at a young age seeds of inclusivity and grace were planted and I've continued to feed that growth, lean into understanding outside of my own lived experience. While I might be included in the generic white lady therapist trope, I hope that how I show up will surprise you.
