About My Clients
I use a strengths-based perspective that supports clients in their treatment. I have experience working with multicultural clients and enjoy working with children, teens, adults, and elders. For my clients, I want to provide a safe and comfortable space that resonates healing and acceptance. I believe in meeting people where they are and helping people along their journey and with the difficulties that life hands us at times.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from JMU with my Bachelor's in Anthropology and from USC with my Master's in Social Work with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families. I interned in Harrisonburg and now work as a social worker at Riverside Family Support as a Youth and Family Specialist. I have experience with families, children, teens and adults. I work closely with those who need parent education, therapeutic mentoring, and foster care prevention. In grad school, I spent a lot of time learning about the LGBTQ+ population as well as substance abuse and domestic violence. I have experience working with multicultural clients/families and look forward to making new connections virtually or in my community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an ally of the LGBTQ+ community and believe in standing up for those rights. I also have firm beliefs in the importance of supporting refugees and immigrants, as well as supporting oppressed populations, such as the Black community, trans community, etc. I am an advocate for mental health, especially around suicidality. I value human connection because I recognize how crucial it is for individuals to know they are supported and seen.
