About My Clients
I work with a wide range of individuals, although most are coming to me for some kind of trauma therapy and most of my clients are women. A few of my areas of focus include developmental trauma, religious trauma, LGBTQ+, relationship issues, family of origin, anxiety, compassion fatigue, and working with highly sensitive people.
My Background and Approach
Life is meant to be lived fully, but often there are circumstances that get in the way of our ability to engage at the level that we want to. Whether that is a trauma or loss or a major life stressor that has made life seem unbearable, you can receive help and there is hope of moving forward and living life to the fullness of your potential. My counseling practice stems from the belief that each and every human has value and deserves to be seen and heard, regardless of age, background, or status. I work with individual adults and adolescents employing trauma-informed care on your path to recovery from life’s difficulties. I practice a holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered approach, working with you toward your individual goals within therapy. My practice comes from a trauma-informed lens and I greatly value somatic and inner mind-body connection work which is incorporated through talk therapy and Lifespan Integration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that whatever wounds you are holding you do not have to stay stuck in that pain forever. There is so much hope and healing available and the therapeutic relationship can be one way of finding that wholeness and health. I believe that in finding your identity and becoming grounded in who you are and how you were designed to show up in the world there is so much freedom and peace. I have seen this in my own life and am constantly amazed and humbled to get the privilege of walking alongside others in their healing journey. I am incredibly passionate about helping people discover who they are and reclaiming the life and joy that is there's to walk in. You are the expert of your life and my role is to empower you to live your best life possible. In the therapy space we often explore systemic injustices and areas of privilege and oppression and how those impact you and your community; alongside incorporating faith and spirituality which can often play an important role.
