My Background and Approach
People often want to improve some aspect of their emotional and mental health. In our work together, we will explore the areas of your life that are challenging or distressing, access and process difficult emotions, and make meaning of patterns in your unique narrative. My practice is based in relational, psychodynamic and strengths-based theoretical orientations. I also integrate narrative and feminist approaches to enrich and empower the existing resilience in each client. I have specialized experience in working with transgender and queer individuals and provide affirming, nonjudgmental therapy for all folks.
I believe in creating a safe and empathic space for a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Each session provides an opportunity for strength, self-awareness, and self-compassion, and I strive to provide a supportive and holding environment for such growth to be possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a cis, white, queer, Jewish woman. I strive in and out of clinical work to be allied to populations including: queer, trans, non-binary, poly, kinky, fat/HAES, BIPOC, sex work, HIV+, religious and non religious minorities, immigrant, and other marginalized populations. Please reach out if you'd like to connect with therapists that identify within those communities, and if I am not the best fit I will work to provide any referrals I can.
