About My Clients
Since 2014, I have provided children in the Austin area a wide range of psychological and counseling services to suit their needs. My therapy sessions are designed to strengthen your child's confidence, and assist them in the healing process.
My Background and Approach
I have experience in working with children, families and adults using different models and forms of therapy including play therapy, art therapy, yoga, and EMDR. I have provided clients with a wide range of mental health services. From small scale circumstances, to traumatic experiences - my services are personalized to suit everyone’s needs. Additionally, I am a board-approved supervisor for social workers working towards independent licensure. My practice is unique in that I do not have an office, instead I provide in-home play therapy or telehealth for older kids and teens.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I began my career as a paralegal with a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth. After working as a paralegal for 5 years I realized that I was in the wrong profession and started working towards my Masters in Social Work from Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts in 2012. Although I have worked with adults and families, my passion is working with children and helping them understand their thoughts, feelings and emotions. By collaborating with clients and parents I am able to help children on the journey of childhood, no matter what comes their way. Using Child-Centered Play Therapy I am able to build connections with my clients and give them the control to learn, grow and just be where they are. In addition to using play therapy, I also use art, yoga and EMDR with my clients. Additionally, I have been a Certified Kids' Yoga Instructor since 2018.
