About My Clients
I serve individuals across the lifespan, specializing in children, adolescents, and emerging adulthood. As a clinician with broad experience in a variety of settings, I am at my best clinically when working with a spectrum of concerns. I focus on helping people heal within context of their relationships; fostering healthy relational bonds within couples, and also within the parent-child relationship. I believe that we all have within us what is needed to heal; we aren't meant to do so alone.
My Background and Approach
My approach is warm, collaborative and action-oriented. My work is informed by Interpersonal Neurobiology, CBT, Mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, The Gottman Method, and Attachment Theory. As an EMDR trained clinician, I address trauma in the many ways it presents itself, both with bilateral movement and EMDR directly, and also with a trauma-informed overarching conceptualization and approach. When working with children, I draw upon several play therapy approaches, with a heavy focus on parent support and nurturing the parent-child relationship. Above all else, I value being myself within the therapeutic relationship, joining authentically with those I serve. I have experience in a variety of settings: residential, in-home family therapy, early childhood, maternal mental health, school-based therapy, and outpatient settings. I have a passion for continuing education and value building upon my knowledge and skills to ensure that I am offering the best support possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
First and foremost: we are all worthy of love, connection, and healing. It is never too late to get started on our healing journey, and that we are inherently wired for healing and for growth. I believe that therapeutic progress takes hard work and dedication, and also takes humor, authenticity, humility, and tremendous courage. It is my genuine honor to work along side each individual I serve.
