About My Clients
I work with adolescents and teens ages 10+, college students, adults, parents, and couples. My clients may be navigating anxiety, depression, academic or life stress, family conflict, relationship challenges, identity development, communication difficulties, or major transitions. I especially enjoy helping families and couples understand recurring patterns, strengthen relationships, and find practical ways to move forward with greater clarity and connection.
My Background and Approach
I’m a therapist in Alexandria, VA with over 17 years of experience working with adolescents and teens, college students, adults, parents, and couples. I provide teen therapy, parent counseling, individual therapy, and couples therapy for concerns including anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, communication, and relationship challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-based therapy. My work with adolescents, parents, and couples is interconnected, helping clients understand how individual experiences and relationship patterns influence one another. I combine insight with practical strategies to help clients strengthen relationships, manage difficult emotions, improve communication, and create meaningful change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best when clients feel understood, respected, and supported while developing practical ways to create meaningful change. As an Alexandria, VA therapist, I work with adolescents and teens, young adults, adults, parents, and couples. My approach to teen therapy, parent counseling, individual therapy, and couples therapy recognizes that individual well-being, family relationships, and patterns of connection are deeply intertwined. I provide a warm, collaborative, nonjudgmental space to explore anxiety, depression, identity, relationships, family conflict, communication, and life transitions. Each client’s culture, faith, identity, family background, values, and lived experiences are important parts of therapy. I strive to provide culturally responsive, affirming care where people from diverse backgrounds, faiths, and identities can bring their whole selves, strengthen relationships, and move toward what matters most to them.
