About My Clients
My primary experience is in working to heal relationship wounds, recover from trauma, and find new ways to interact with stubborn issues. My ideal clients probably have really tough problems, and they may be hurting very deeply, but they are also ready to try on new thoughts and behaviors to find healing and their "new normal." I work with people suffering from PTSD symptoms, severe anxiety, and those in affair recovery and/or blended family situations.
My Background and Approach
I utilize CBT, DBT, EMDR, EFT and ego state approaches to therapy, as the client and I deem appropriate. I have been trained by industry experts in these approaches, including Scott Pedersen (DBT), Dr. Sue Johnson (EFT), and Jill McCoy Archer and Gary Scarborough (EMDR/ego state). I also continue to attend trainings with Dr. Scott Miller about FIT and integrating FIT into every aspect of the client experience at my clinic. I have a MS degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (2012). I am LGBTQ knowledgeable and affirming, and I am skilled at integrating spirituality (or non-spirituality, for that matter!) into therapy at the client's request.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I live in Sherwood, AR, with my wife and two kids. I am an active member of the LGBTQ community, a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, and I stand in opposition to binaries of ANY form! You aren't broken, like some sort of soulless machine. You are a living being, who is possibly wounded by tragedy or life's hard realities. You don't need to be "fixed." You need to find healing. With my open mind, open heart, and expert training, I will do whatever I can to help you find the healing and abundant life you deserve.
