About My Clients
My passion and specialty is working with Autistic and ADHD individuals - especially those identified later in life. Many highly masking people go unidentified or are misdiagnosed until adulthood. I am both ADHD and Autistic, which informs my approach. I strive to create a safe, understanding environment, while offering psychoeducation and coping techniques.
My Background and Approach
My educational background includes a MSW from Columbia University, as well as a MSC in cognitive neuroscience from City University of London. My background in neuroscience allows me to set a foundation rooted in biological science. Society often tells us we need to fit a certain mold to be ‘healthy,’ and self-help culture sometimes pushes us to strive for ideals that go against how our brains naturally function. This can leave many of us feeling inadequate or ‘broken,’ when often we are simply being human. I work from a neurodiversity-affirming framework, which recognizes that there is no ‘correct’ way of experiencing the world. I know what it's like to feel "different" and the pain of trying to fit into a mold that was not made for you. We are not all meant to think, feel, and behave the same way. There is no "right way" of being. I'd love to work with you to help you understand how your brain functions and build self-confidence and joy around the things that make you unique.
