About My Clients
I work with teens and adults navigating many mental health challenges and stressors, including trauma and C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, major life transitions (e.g. school/work transitions, phase of life changes, and gaining independence in adolescence and young adulthood), interpersonal stress, having multiple mental health or medical diagnoses/chronic illness, substance use and recovery (harm reduction or abstinence-based), and court-mandated treatment.
My Background and Approach
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and culturally affirming, drawing from CBT, ACT, narrative, and existential frameworks. Think of therapy like car maintenance. Not everyone needs it all the time, but everyone could benefit from it some of the time. If we ignore our “Check Engine” light flashing, things only get worse and break down. Therapy can provide processing time, perspective, tools, and support to help you feel more grounded, capable, and content.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We live within complex contexts, many of which are shaped by systemic oppressions, intergenerational trauma, ableism, racism, financial insecurity, and global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change. These realities impact not only our mental health, but our ability to meet basic needs and feel safe in the world. Because of this, I see therapy as most effective when it acknowledges and engages with both the personal and the systemic. In my work, this often includes practical support and systems navigation—what some call social work—because so many of our stressors and traumas are rooted in broader structural inequalities and basic needs not being met. We often need more than a safe, nonjudgmental space for processing and gaining insight; we need concrete support and resources. I strive to offer both. If you're not in need of those resources and are simply interested in talk therapy, I offer that kind of support often and am happy to work with you in that way as well!
