About My Clients
You feel discouraged, overwhelmed, and held back by difficult and painful thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences. You wear a "mask" to hide your pain from your friends and family, feeling as if you shouldn't feel the way you feel and feeling that they would not understand what you're going through if you were to open up to them. You want to be heard and seen for who you truly are. I provide a safe space for healing where you can take off your "mask" and work through your pain.
My Background and Approach
Having been in the client’s shoes, I can say that what has been most important to me is establishing a strong sense of connection with the counselor. To feel like the counselor truly understands and cares. In addition to this, I want a counselor who will not just listen to me, but will help me get to where I want to be. My main goal is to be that counselor for you. I offer an empathic and gentle environment where you and I can work together to find and walk down your unique path toward emotional healing. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques that are designed to target your specific needs and concerns. I help you tune into, and better understand, the thoughts and emotions that are holding you up so that you can use this knowledge to make adjustments to your internal and external environment. I help you access your inner warrior and innate strengths so that you can overcome whatever obstacles that arise as you make your journey from darkness to light.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a strong love and appreciation for the complexity and diversity of humanity and I seek to provide an environment that accepts, welcomes, and loves people of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, and spiritual beliefs. I believe that individuals are the experts of their own lives and that they have the natural desire and capability to grow and change and this belief plays a foundational role in the work I do with my clients. I believe that things come up in our lives that prevent us from being the best, most actualized versions of ourselves, but that we have everything we need within us to overcome our difficulties and move forward. We often don't see our own innate potential for a variety of reasons including limiting beliefs, unhelpful behavior patterns, and toxic relationships. Working with a therapist can help us all to see our true potential and work through any barriers that are standing in our way from reaching it.
