About My Clients

Hi, I'm so glad you're here! I specialize in working with individuals dealing with eating disorders, disordered eating behaviors, and body image concerns, helping them navigate these challenges. I also support individuals in healing from childhood trauma and work with couples to strengthen their relationships.

My Background and Approach

My approach is grounded in anti-oppression, feminism, and collective liberation, focusing on how systems and relationships shape our well-being. I’m deeply committed to making therapy inclusive so we can explore your inner world together and empower you on your healing journey. I prioritize creating relational safety with you where active listening, collaboration, and a touch of humor foster deeper connection. Key insights are gently highlighted together to encourage growth while somatic practices such as breathwork and mindfulness are integrated to support holistic, long-term healing. In addition, I use a blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodynamic therapy to help you explore and heal the underlying emotional patterns that shape your behaviors, fostering lasting change and deeper self-awareness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a Japanese-American woman who has personally recovered from a severe eating disorder, I deeply understand the complexities of this journey. I believe healing is closely tied to the sociopolitical and family systems we navigate, and recognizing these systems of oppression is central to our work together. True healing is collective, rooted in liberation from the unrealistic standards imposed by society and others. I offer culturally-centered psychotherapy that honors individual identities, incorporates cultural context, and promotes healing through empowerment and social justice. I am committed to continuously examining my own biases and healing so I can show up fully for my clients. This ongoing self-reflection allows me to offer a safe, empathetic space where clients can explore their own healing, knowing that I am fully present, open, and attuned to their needs.
