During play therapy sessions, children process their thoughts and feelings and are more able to communicate their inner world through the language of play. Parents/guardians who partner with their child’s therapist are empowered to make shifts that are helpful to the child and the whole family.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body can heal from physical trauma.

Your child may have outbursts or other behavioral issues at school or at home.

Your child be be afraid when away from caregivers, have extreme fear about a specific thing or situation, such as dogs, insects, or going to the doctor. They may be afraid of school and other places where there are people, or they may be worried about the future and about bad things happening.

Play therapy is used to help your child learn tools and strategies for their ADHD.

Your child may have difficulties focusing, paying attention or managing their energy at home and at school.

I use play therapy and other approaches that are tailored to your child's developmental needs to help them communicate, process and move through whatever may be bothering them or causing them difficulty.

I am experienced in using EMDR, play therapy, and other trauma models to support children in processing and moving through trauma to help them feel safe, secure and happy.

I help children connect their minds, emotions and bodies to figure out how anxiety is impacting them and learn ways to manage it more successfully.
