About My Clients

It can be challenging to be a kid in today's world. Watching your child or teen navigate this ever-changing world while also struggling with emotional difficulties can be overwhelming and heartbreaking. Seeking extra support for your child through psychotherapy is a great way to equip both you and your child with new tools and skills that can help make life easier and more enjoyable.

My Background and Approach

Dr. Rachel is a strong believer in the effectiveness of evidence-based practice. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the APA-Accredited program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She completed her internship at the Arizona College of Medicine in the Child and Adolescent Track. She has worked in specialized anxiety, school refusal, and selective mutism clinics as well as in a neuropsychological practice, a university based testing clinic, and outpatient psychiatry clinics. Working in these settings has allowed Dr. Rachel to develop a deep understanding of the various factors that influence a child's development and psychological health. As such, Dr. Rachel will work with not only your child to help them learn new coping skills and tools, but also with parents, teachers, and other professionals to help your child overcome their challenges and thrive.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy is a place for kids and teens to build coping skills, process feelings, develop a better understanding of themselves, solve problems, and create positive behavior change. Therapy can be helpful to your child whether they just do not seem like themselves lately, are having a hard time getting along with others, or are starting to fall behind in school. Therapy can also be helpful if your child is struggling with a more specific challenge such as excessive fear, worry, sadness, or difficulty managing their emotions.
