About My Clients
I see a wide variety of clients. I have worked with individuals and off for 20 years, and others just long enough to address a specific issue. I work with everyone who is in need of help. Treating eating disorders is the bulk of my experience, I have yet to meet an individual who has no other co-occurring symptoms, including trauma, anxiety, depression...I especially enjoy working with middle-aged folks who are suffering from severe and enduring eating disorders, as well as young adults & fam
My Background and Approach
I am an embodied therapist. The best way I can describe that is that it comes very naturally to me. I am very curious and have learned that curiosity over judgment is the key to us getting to the meaning and root of the issues. I am very authentic and want to make sure I really understand where you are at and what level of discomfort you are willing to experience to facilitate change. I am the founder of Shoreline Center for Eating Disorder Treatment and developed and ran all programs until December 31, 2021. Despite the difficulty in the transition, I am so excited to be back to my roots of providing direct care. After all, that has always been my driving motivation. In my early clinical days, I was known for providing out-of-the-box interventions, including using experiential activities in nature to facilitate change. Since those early days, I have become a Certified Ecotherapist and value the collaboration with nature and adventure in helping people heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a HAES ( Health at Every Size ) provider. I also believe that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible. I am an ally of the LGBTQT community and am constantly learning how systemic injustice impacts mental health and am committed to doing my part to change that.
