About My Clients
Many people come to therapy when things are shifting in their hearts, minds, and environments. I've worked with many clients to (re-)clarify their values and identities . This includes work with people changing in relationship to self, others, substances, spirit; those coping with loss/ grief; combat veterans readjusting to civilian life; students adjusting to higher education; people transitioning gender; and people seeking to clarify who they are -here, now, today - on their own terms.
My Background and Approach
I'm an energetic and engaging therapist who will approach our relationship with authenticity, candor, and optimism With decades of counseling experience in a variety of settings I bring perspective from time spent with thousands of humans to join you with your expertise in your own life so we can start sorting out the puzzle pieces of your sense of self and create a realistic picture of what's next. Relationships are the foundation of so much of our lives, our relationship is important to me and I hope to earn and keep your trust. I hope we can explore your relationship with : your sense of self, your family, your friends, your spiritual connections, your community, your vocational and/or educational callings, your relationship with drugs or alcohol. Let’s clarify what’s working and what’s not working so well right now. Through the safety of our relationship we will work to (re-)build your self esteem, clarify your values and goals, and harness your inner wisdom.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm incredibly fortunate to have been able to live and love and work with people from many walks of life whether it's a highly sensitive person, artist, musician, parent, college professor, combat veteran, motorcycle club member, sex worker, elementary school teacher, or a drag queen - we all have a right to be ourselves and to be loved and safe in our relationships. I believe love is inclusive. I believe we are not defined by the worst moments of our lives. I believe we all have the capacity for finding more moments of inner peace. I believe we all have the right to health, safety, and freedom to choose how we live our lives and I reject the recent notions that freedom is just for straight white cis males waving guns and US flags - no one is free unless we are all free. I am fortunate to have been born here, now, today, and in this body and I am committed to being a source of safety, validation, and catalyst for change for those I serve in this practice.
