About My Clients
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I am passionate about working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety (including generalized anxiety, specific phobias, social anxiety, and selective mutism) or OCD. I also work well with individuals with ADHD, depression, and those struggling with life transitions or peer relationship challenges.
My Background and Approach
I primarily use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy/Exposure and Response Prevention in my approach to therapy, while tailoring sessions to the unique needs and preferences of each individual. I attended graduate school at Michigan State University, where I earned a PhD in School Psychology. I completed an APPIC-accredited internship at Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in Texas, followed my a post-doctoral residency at The Center for Cognitive Therapy & Assessment in Virginia.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that feeling genuinely comfortable with and connected to your therapist is essential to progress. Meeting a therapist for the first time is such a vulnerable and courageous experience! I strive to use warmth, validation, and practical strategies in sessions to help you reach your goals.I seek feedback from my clients to ensure that our sessions are consistent with your hopes and expectations for therapy.
