Addictions Counselor in Salem, OR

About My Clients

My clients are adults and children who feel overwhelmed by medical issues, chronic pain, reproductive or women’s health concerns, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, autism, identity stress, or major life transitions. Many are navigating long-term uncertainty, healthcare stress, or difficult systems and are seeking practical support, clarity, and a space where their experiences are taken seriously.

My Background and Approach

My background is in working with individuals and families facing complex, real-world stressors, including medical trauma, chronic illness, reproductive and women’s health concerns, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and autism. I am a licensed professional counselor with experience supporting LGBTQ+ clients and others who have felt misunderstood or underserved within healthcare and social systems. My approach is solution-focused and trauma-informed, with attention to the whole person. I work collaboratively to identify what is not working, build on existing strengths, and develop practical, realistic steps toward change. I integrate an understanding of how mind, body, relationships, and lived experience interact, so therapy feels grounded and relevant to daily life. My goal is to provide a respectful, affirming space where clients feel supported, capable, and better equipped to move forward.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people are capable of growth and change throughout their lives, especially when they feel supported, understood, and respected. Many emotional and mental health challenges develop in response to difficult experiences, unmet needs, or systems that have not been safe or responsive. With the right support, people can develop new ways of understanding themselves and responding to stress. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, practical, and grounded in real life. My role is to support clients in building insight, resilience, and tools that fit their values and circumstances. I strive to offer an affirming, nonjudgmental space where clients feel taken seriously, particularly those who have felt overlooked or misunderstood within healthcare or social systems. I am committed to providing inclusive, LGBTQ-affirming care and to approaching each client with curiosity, respect, and care.
