About My Clients
I specialize in the treatment of individuals, families, and providing parenting support. I support couples in the challenges of parenting in today’s world. Additionally, I offer supervision to licensed therapists.
My Background and Approach
I use a person-centered, mindfulness based approach to my work, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic theories to treat the individual within the dynamics of their world. I received my Masters of Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago in 2004 and I trained at Northwestern University’s Stone Institute of Psychiatry. I worked as a family therapist for a number of years at Bradley Hospital, a Brown University children’s psychiatric teaching hospital. I believe in a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to working with individuals and families in order to best serve my clients complex needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come from a mindfulness and strength-based perspective in which I believe we are all doing the best we can given the resources we have. People typically come to therapy when their quality of life isn't what they want it to be, or isn't what they think it is "supposed" to be. Life is hard and can be uncomfortable. I aim to help individuals and families learn how to make their way through the discomforts of life in order to feel more fulfilled and grounded.
