About My Clients

From the outside, your life looks fine. But inside, you're struggling. You spend all of your energy putting others first, so that when it comes time to get your needs met, you don't even know what you want. You're afraid to set boundaries because you feel too guilty. And you somehow feel like not enough and too much all at once (how is that possible?). There is a way forward, and I can help you find it. Get in touch today to stop the cycle of overwhelm and build a life that works for you.

My Background and Approach

My clients say they look forward to our sessions because they know they will be seen and heard without judgement. Therapy with me is collaborative: I don't sit back and nod, and I won't simply give you advice about what to do. Instead, we work together to explore your concerns and help you move towards your goals. I believe that wellness is strongly linked to the patterns we create in our relationships, and I seek to understand these patterns so we can have more choice in how we engage in our lives. I also strongly believe that effective therapy must acknowledge the impact of systems of oppression and power on our wellbeing. Finally, I use evidence based treatments like Internal Family Systems (IFS) in my clinical work to help you heal your wounded parts and move forward to a more joyful life. Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2012 Website: www.rachelwfriendly.com

My Values as a Therapist

I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every human being. My goal is to create a space in which you feel free to be your authentic, truthful, whole self without fear of judgment. I value self-exploration and taking accountability for one's life and choices while simultaneously calling out and working to dismantle the systems that hold us down and make us feel small and unworthy of love. I am committed to my own growth and am always working to take accountability for my own privilege and blind spots, including regularly seeking out training and resources around anti-racism work and trans/non-binary/gender affirming care. I am also a massive nerd and a particular super-fan of Doctor Who (although I won't judge you if you have never seen it!). I believe in the power of connection between people, and that relationships are the key to a fulfilling and meaningful life!
