About My Clients
I enjoy working with couples who are considering marriage or newly married wanting to build a strong foundation in their relationship. These couples are wanting to learn effective and healthy communication and conflict resolution skills while also discovering ways to increase connection. The couples I work with are ready to take action and implement what we learn in the session outside of the session.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the Seattle School for Theology and Psychology in Seattle, WA. As a clinician, I have managed a caseload of 50+ clients serving children, adolescents and adults. I have provided individual and group therapy with a focus on Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have experience being part of a Child Domestic Violence Response Team and Youth Substance Use Disorder Team. I am Gottman Method Trained, a Prepare and Enrich Faciliator, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certified.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I desire to be an individual who walks the talk. I know the fears and concerns that can come when first seeking out therapy for your relationship. I wanted to know what it was like to sit on the couch with my partner and practice the skills I would one day be teaching my own clients. It was hard to be vulnerable and share the truths about our relationship-the good, the bad and the ugly. What we gained though was worth every single penny and every tear cried. We both look back at our couples therapy fondly and continue to practice the skills we learned.
