About My Clients

I am proud to work with a diverse group of clients. Most of my clients range in ages 16-45, are members (or strong allies) of the queer/trans community. I typically work with folks experiencing anxiety, life transitions, identity development, relational conflict, intimate partner violence (including, but not limited to domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, human trafficking, etc.), ADHD, and grief.

My Background and Approach

I began my social work journey in 2019 as a youth case manager for a workforce development organization. I later went on to be a victim advocate at a local university and earn my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Michigan State University. During my studies, I focused primarily on learning of the neurobiology and treatment of trauma and anxiety-related disorders. I completed my clinical internship at a domestic violence shelter/crisis center and became certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. I utilize an eclectic approach in therapy. I believe that there is no singular modality that will work for every person. We all have different experiences, backgrounds, and values. I typically draw from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, parts work, and psychodynamic approaches. TL;DR - I care about getting to the core of the issue and exploring how past wounds affect our current thoughts & behaviors

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I do not sugar coat nor hide my beliefs. I believe that therapy is inherently political and we are constantly being tasked with working against systems of oppression. I am unapologetically queer & neurodivergent, and I believe that all clients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I am proud to be leftist and vehemently oppose the current administration's attacks on basic human freedoms. I acknowledge my whiteness and how it impacts my work/place in the therapy space and am continually working to decolonize my practice. These parts of me are non-negotiable and directly impact the work I do in the therapy space.
