About My Clients
I enjoy working with people who are looking to reduce anxious thoughts and improve relationships with others. People who have trauma that is hard to talk about or feel as if they are too much, have a space with me. Most often, the clients I see are women who have tried their best to work through the struggle on their own or in traditional therapy, but found that it wasn't working for them. Traditional therapy is a lot more worksheets and not enough moving through whats coming up together.
My Background and Approach
I draw from several prominent evidence based practices, but I believe it is important to look at the whole person before deciding on treatment as well; making an informed decision together on what is best for your healing. I help clients feel better at an effective pace using exposure based interventions that support multiple different diagnoses. Exposure therapy is one of the only highly proven modalities to reduce anxiety and trauma responses. When it is time to ask a professional for help, you want someone that can efficiently reduce symptoms. I am for people that want to engage in work with tangible outcomes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a social worker at my core and that reflects through the strong sense of justice I have for my clients. I believe everyone deserves to feel seen and heard, no matter what they have gone through. This is one of the main reasons I have chosen to add a neurodivergent affirming lens to my care to increase clients with this need’s access to care. You can thrive no matter the circumstances and where you come from. In my personal life, I enjoy reading fantasy and playing games on my PC. I am big on self care and will often be spotted getting a coffee before heading to a yoga class. I have a cat named Soup that will sometimes be seen in virtual session with me:)
