About My Clients

Though I have substantial experience working with youth, families, and parents, I have really enjoyed my opportunities working with young adults as I've transitioned into my own practice. This season of life brings about many changes that can lead to shifts in mood, anxious distress, interpersonal conflicts, and self-confusion. I find that I work best with those who are willing to deeply explore themselves and consider new perspectives to create new meaning in their lives.

My Background and Approach

I have been in the mental health field since 2015, gradually gaining experience that has led me to joining my group private practice at The Wise Mind Institute. Coming from a background in community mental health has grounded me in working from a family systems lens enabling me to observe and explore the intricacies of an individual's family dynamics and how their self-perception and world view have been shaped by their culture, values, and intergeneration patterns. Though our families play a significant role in our lives, I believe every individual is unique and has the agency to create their own narrative consisting of their self discovered values and meaning. Influenced by my training in DBT and the Humanistic perspective of psychology, my process is both self-exploration and skill development, enabling an individual to live their life with joy and authenticity.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have so many beliefs! I believe we all want love, validation, and to feel accepted. When we are unable to access that connection with others, we experience immense pain that can lead to lashing out, withdrawal, or suppressing parts of ourselves to obtain that sense of belonging. Even though pain is an inevitable aspect of the lived experience, I believe we have choice in how we want to relate to our pain. I believe we have the power to reduce our suffering. By first accepting where we are at, we are then able to move towards change.
