About My Clients

Between the pressures of school, family, friends, social media, and all the stressors that come with being a young adult, you may have the feeling that something has got to give. You wish you could communicate better with your parents, relax around your peers, and feel closer to your partner. That's where I come in. Throughout my experience, I’ve helped people conquer their depression, overcome anxiety, and restore relationships.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-harm. Maintaining trust and a strong relationship is always my top priority. My theoretical orientation (aka therapy style) is largely rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with advanced training in Trauma-Focused CBT. I am passionate about providing treatments backed by research, and I also pull skills from other evidenced-based orientations when it best serves my client. For example, if I were treating a recent college graduate with anxiety about making a decision on whether to enter the workforce or attend graduate school, I may apply CBT skills to address negative assumptions they are making about the future, recommend progressive muscle relaxation as a stress management tool, and conduct an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy-based exercise to help the client make a decision that aligns with their values.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone is deserving of a judgement-free, warm, open environment to share the tough stuff. I take steps to practice cultural humility and practice allyship in both my professional and personal life. Further, I align whole-heartedly with the Health at Every Size approach and our therapy space is size-inclusive. It's also is safe space for people of all backgrounds, cultures, gender identities and sexualities. I openly confess that sometimes I get it wrong, and do my best to create a relationship with my clients where it's encouraged for you to let me know so I can make it right. As a part of that, my top concern is always the trust, rapport, and relationship we build as a team.
