About My Clients

I believe that prioritizing self-care and seeking appropriate support is key to mental health stability, happiness and quality of life. My extensive work in the field includes working with adults (18+) and older adults (60+) in outpatient and inpatient settings. I specialize in the treatment of sensitive populations; those who have chronic health conditions, pain and medical issues exacerbated by depression and anxiety.

My Background and Approach

Each one of us is unique, shaped by our unique experiences and perspectives. I prescribe to the notion of meeting a new client where they are. Using a collaborative approach to therapy, we’ll partner to foster a safe and judgement-free space for you to open and share your lived experiences and feelings. I'll be there to listen to you, challenge you, educate and support you. I always start with an introductory session (this is often called an intake and evaluation appointment). This is where I'll meet with you for the first time and you'll have the opportunity to talk about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I strive to create a warm, friendly and welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable while also feeling secure. We will work together in the sessions to follow to make these goals a reality for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a therapist, I believe we are all deserving of being heard without judgement and to feel supported in a safe and confidential space. Therapy is the opportunity to talk about lived experiences and learn about how these experiences have shaped us and how, in turn, we can use these experiences to grow. Therapy is a place to learn about self, to improve interpersonal relationships, to grieve losses and to experience resiliency. Therapy is a place to discover our strengths, to nurture our talents and to love ourself. Therapy is a place to cry, to be angry, to be sad, to laugh. Therapy is a place where your true self is always welcome. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married for 20 years, and have 3 children. I was born and raised in Southern California and remain here serving the community that raised me. Some of my interests include tending to my houseplants and antique shopping.
