About My Clients

Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and disappointed that they thought motherhood would feel one way and it feels completely different. They may have thoughts that things will never feel better and regret having a baby in the first place or fixate on doing things "perfectly" and feeling like a failure when it doesn't . Pregnant and postpartum mothers don't have to "push through" their feelings and suffer. Recovery is possible!

My Background and Approach

When you're sleep-deprived and exhausted, it can be hard to reach out for help. I work collaboratively with clients through the use of evidence-based methods to help you learn ways to increase support, address unwanted thoughts, increase self-care, decrease overstimulation and address issues that may come up in your relationship with your partner now that a baby is part of your lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every mother deserves to feel whole, supported, and "good enough". There is no perfection. Therapy should be tailored to the individual needs of the client. It's important to me that you feel heard and understood. For some people, talking about their experience is their preference, but for others it can be hard to put into words all of the feelings they are experiencing and find that creative arts approaches such as art, music, writing, or role play is helpful. I am also a credentialed Registered Drama Therapist and believe that accessing creative expression can be a supportive part of the healing process.
