About My Clients
I work with individuals 18 years and older. I feel excited about working with folks who are navigating emerging adulthood, dealing with life transitions/changes (grief; loss; relationship changes; big life moves), those seeking deeper sense of purpose and meaning, and folks who are part of LGBTQ+ communities and communities of color. I feel really passionate about providing EMDR to those wanting to heal and work through a variety of trauma presentations.
My Background and Approach
I have been practicing therapy since 2018 and hold a master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon. This allows me to work with folks in person at my office and via telehealth for greater accessibility. My approach to therapy comes from a place of prioritizing safety in relationships. How can we heal, grow, or be challenged in or outside of therapy without safety in place? My goal is to help folks figure out what this can look like and how to move toward a more regulated nervous system. I work to understand my clients and their needs from an existential lens, while at the same time integrating intra/interpersonal growth via attachment focused and mentalization based therapy modalities. I am also EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained and am working towards my certification.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have worked in non-profits and community based organizations for more than half of my life and the entirety of my counseling career. My passion and deep sense of care for individuals who are excluded, under-resourced, under-served, and disenfranchised will always be at the forefront of my work. It is imperative to me to acknowledge and deconstruct the ways in which we are all impacted by systems of oppression. And to be part of recognizing the role therapy plays in this system.
