About My Clients
Pressure from yourself and others carries a heavy weight. Quick to anger or judge? Have trouble navigating communication with people you love? Struggling through a period of transition? I understand that life throws challenges your way – from academic and societal pressures to complex relationships and changes in your norm. You're not alone. It is my goal to provide a space where you can openly share your thoughts, increase your emotional vocabulary, and explore change without judgment.
My Background and Approach
Let's work together to ease the burden of pressure and perfection, ease anxiety and distress in transitions, get un-stuck, improve communication, and understand yourself on a deeper level. I utilize experiential therapies - journaling, art, walk and talk - and believe in your ability to heal, find joy, hope, love yourself, and live the life you envision. The world we live in is stress-inducing and anxiety producing. I will help you gain confidence in your ability to manage stress, anxiety, and life's many challenges by practicing assertive communication and utilizing various coping mechanisms.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in everyones innate ability to hope, love, heal, and grow. I love to say, "therapists need therapists too!" and we do! Working on ourselves is a never ending process and that's okay. I am not an expert on your life, you are. I am here to help you navigate it. We all need a third-party support at some point (often multiple points!) in our lives, someone who is out of our social circle, to help us work through mental health issues, emotional confusion, family and friend conflicts, situational distress, death and grieving, and change. When you come to my office or meet me on the trail or at the barn - it is YOUR time and I'm here for it. We will work on whatever it is that feels important to you while working towards goals that we set together. You bring you and I'll bring me. Together, we will make positive, lasting improvements in your life.
