About My Clients
My goal as a therapist is for people to be comfortable understanding and being their full selves, both in the office and out in the world. I am particularly passionate about working with folks around sex, relationships, and queer identities.
My Background and Approach
I moved to Boise in 2011 after completing my undergraduate degree in Women, Gender Sexuality Studies at UMass Amherst. I earned an MSW from Boise State (2015) and hold a certificate in Sex Therapy and Sexuality Education from the University of Michigan (2020). I have always been passionate about working with people around sexuality, pleasure, and connection with the body. I have experience working in sexual violence and relationship violence, and incorporate a trauma-sensitive lens into the work that I do with clients. I often share with clients that I think of therapy as a journey we are on together, but you are in the driver's seat, and I am there to be a copilot. I can help read the map and let you know if there are potential places to explore or challenges to avoid, but ultimately, you control the pace and the direction of the work. It is important to me that therapy is a collaborative process so that you are able to get what you need out of the experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that access to mental health care is a social justice issue, and I believe strongly that many of the challenges we experience stem from systems that exist in our current society. I believe that my clients are the experts on their own lives and that you deserve to be affirmed and celebrated in your identities and experiences!
