About My Clients
You know you need help, but don’t know who to talk to or if talking will even change anything. You’ve experienced a trauma & you're tired of talking about it, but you don’t want to feel “that feeling" anymore. You know that something is wrong, but you can’t seem to put words to it. Or maybe you have been to therapy before & just talking about it didn’t seem to help. Perhaps your child is not behaving in school or at home like he or she used to. Traditional & Expressive Art Therapy can help!
My Background and Approach
What makes my approach unique is that I offer expressive art therapy that can be incorporated into whatever clinical approach is used. Using various mediums such as drawing, painting, clay/playdough, music, movement, journaling and play therapy I will help you explore aspects of life where there are no words and art speaks. This may include solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy, expressive art and/or play therapy and other psychotherapy techniques. Additionally, I offer a Christian perspective and a safe space to develop or improve your relationship with God, others and yourself. Trust and collaboration is key. I am here to listen to your needs and hear what you have to say in words or through art. I am not here to talk at you but rather to work together with you. My goal is to provide you with the best tools to use in your daily life, when you are in a moment of need.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone should have access to quality mental healthcare. Having experienced personal trauma and healing myself, I know its benefits and how sometimes when no words exist, art speaks! I am an organized yet playful, fun, energetic and creative person that is adaptable to various personality types, can naturally connect with others and enjoy meeting new and diverse people. As an avid painter and clinical social worker, I enjoy using art to help others breathe in the midst of a storm and beyond, and assisting others in remembering their strengths and allowing them a place to be heard. I believe in using an integrative therapeutic approach and will provide the right therapeutic solution that best suits your needs. This may include solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy, expressive art and/or play therapy and other traditional psychotherapy techniques.
