About My Clients
Fenway Health is seeking men who have sex with men (MSM) living with HIV to participate in a research study that lasts approximately 24 weeks. The goal of the study is to increase coping skills and HIV self-care. Eligible participants will complete a series of research visits involving computerized questionnaires and counseling, focused on HIV self-care. Participants will also receive text messages about behavioral health.
My Background and Approach
Participants randomized to the intervention will also receive 5 therapy sessions and daily text messages. At this time, study visits will be conducted over the computer or phone until it is safe to meet in person. We’re testing a treatment that may improve the coping skills of men who have sex with men living with HIV and who use substances. Eligible participants will be randomly placed into one of two groups. The intervention group will receive counseling that might strengthen skills they need to deal with negative emotions and thoughts that may get in the way of self-care behaviors. All participants will get at least one session focused on problem solving self-care challenges. All eligible participants will be compensated for their time.
