About My Clients
I have a wealth of experience working with adults, teenagers, children, and families. I have helped many clients living with and/or experiencing overwhelming depression, anxiety, ADHD, interpersonal relationship issues, parenting problems, low self-esteem, and difficulty managing anger. Currently, my work is focused on diagnosis and treatment for adults (at least 18 years old) living with an anxiety disorder, mood disorder, or experiencing intimate partner violence.
My Background and Approach
There are a variety of theoretical orientations that include, but are not limited to, dialectical behavior therapy, psychoanalysis, family systems, attachment theory, and cognitive behavior therapy. My sessions focus on the use of the latter. Cognitive behavior therapy explores problems at the basis of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy helps clients to identify their thought patterns, emotional responses, and behavioral reactions. Thought patterns are examined to identify, challenge, and restructure irrational beliefs, in order to make them more objective and realistic. This can have the effect of improving overall mood, the ability to problem-solve, and demonstrate healthy behavioral reactions.
