My Background and Approach
I know you can feel content, connected and confident in your own skin again! As a clinician, I provide a calm, affirming, supportive experience focused on your safety and welfare. I practice culturally appropriate interventions to assist you in developing coping and communication skills. I take a holistic, strengths-based approach that is specific to your needs and incorporate the following evidenced-based approaches that I've been trained in: Emotionally Focused Therapy to explore underlying emotions, needs, and fears that affect our relationships. Gottman Method to assist couples in improving communication and connection through increased empathy, accountability, friendship, affection, and shared meaning. Narrative Therapy to bring awareness of problem stories that may be defining us and add context to separate them from our identity. Trauma-informed CBT and DBT to process the impact that trauma has on our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and find more adaptive ways of coping.
