About My Clients
I cater towards the adult Black girls in Trader Joes & Target to the Black girls "you can take out of the hood but can't take the hood out of the girl". You might also be tired of code-switching & want to work towards your healing without explaining your change in hairstyles. My clients are interested in coping with anxiety, depression, self-esteem and life transitions in individual or group therapy. Whether new to therapy or a veteran, the goal is to have support & a safe space to grow.
My Background and Approach
We provide services through a person-centered and strengths-based perspective with a combination of rational-emotive and cognitive behavioral therapy. That's a fancy way of saying, we think of you first and work towards meeting your needs with what you have and how you're thinking.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Black woman SOULcial Worker meaning I do everything from my soul to help you heal yours. I am licensed in Maryland and based out of Baltimore. I have a history of working with a variety of ages, but I currently cater towards Black women who are interested in working towards managing their emotions but need some guidance and help. I believe in providing safe and brave spaces for people to be who they are and who they would like to be during treatment. I provide a Christian based approach for those who would like to add their relationship with God into their treatment from a non-denominational background. Why non-denominational? Relationship is greater than religion. All denominations are welcomed and respected. The philosophy of Minds Over Matter is to provide services alongside workshops, trainings, webinars and speaking engagements that relate to mental health awareness and self-care with an emphasis on Black mental health wellness.
