About My Clients
Dr. Daskalova offers individuals and couples therapy to adults seeking to address anxiety and other mood concerns, trauma, and family-of-origin difficulties. She has particular interest and expertise in working with undergraduate and graduate students, as well as young professionals and those seeking to make a career change. Dr. Daskalova further has an extensive background working with clients who have an immigrant or international background.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Daskalova holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Prior to starting her own practice, she worked in community mental health settings, hospital-affiliated clinics, and three university counseling centers in the Chicagoland area. Dr. Daskalova's therapeutic style is warm and collaborative in nature, and she flexibly draws from a range of evidence-based interventions including relational and cognitive-behavioral approaches. In addition to her clinical practice, she has experience providing supervision to graduate-level master's interns and doctoral externs completing their degrees and seeking licensure in Illinois. Lastly, Dr. Daskalova remains engaged in teaching, research, and consultation work. She is an adjunct instructor at Loyola University Chicago, where she teaches classes to graduate students in the Counseling Psychology department.
