Feeling engaged in your life, striving for excellence in your work, feeling loved and supported, and feeling anxious free and less self-critical is within your reach. I work with clients to first understand what drives them to achieve, and that there is hope. Next, we work collaboratively realizing solutions to maintaining their high performance while replacing that self-critical voice that criticizes their work into one that becomes supportive. I help my clients master a set of tools that they can use to help reduce the self-criticalness and anxiety they feel and lead to a calmer more focused life.
I have held a range of positions in the counseling field, and my experience as a tenured professor mentoring students in counseling approaches and theories reinforces my passion for helping individual clients directly. Most of my research is focused on perfectionism and stress management, and I am excited to share it with my clients.
