About My Clients

I work with adults whose days are shaped by chronic pain or chronic illness. The work is not about fixing your body. It is about what is actually available to you, and about how much of this is the system rather than you. Not being believed about pain is its own injury, and most of the people I see have had a version of that. Some are also preparing for a legal psychedelic experience, or making sense of one they already had.

My Background and Approach

I live with fibromyalgia. That doesn’t make me an expert on your body, but it does mean I won’t tell you just to try harder. Most of our work is practical. We look at what your days are really like, where pain takes more than it has to, and what is available to you, so there is more room for daily life. Therapy sits alongside medical care for a pain condition. It does not replace it. Before starting my private practice, I spent seven years doing research at Yale and the VA in Connecticut, studying how people experience non-ordinary states of consciousness. I’ve been practicing since 2010. I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and teach continuing education for other therapists. The first step is a free 15-minute call, so you can see whether this feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure to book anything afterward.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a therapist, my personal beliefs align with inspiring others to be supportive, patient, and kind. I am committed to dismantling systems of oppression and promoting a radically caring and equitable post-capitalist future. I am also passionate about integrating psychedelics into mental health care as a tool for healing and transformation. Let's work together towards creating positive change and building a more compassionate and just world. Set and setting are important factors for understanding any psychedelic experience. The setting in which I work with my clients, and in which they use psychedelics, is capitalism. That, and many other aspects of society, is inherently imbalanced and unjust. I work with my clients at primarily an individual level, but I recognize that often larger social and institutional factors are at play in determining mental health and quality of life.
