About My Clients
Our lives can take many different paths, and finding the path that meets our needs and values can be hard to navigate. It can leave us in a place of feeling lost, overwhelmed, broken, and disconnected from our sense of self. This sense of hopelessness can prevent us from seeing the power within ourselves. PeriAnne is here to meet you where you are at, and be your hope holder until you are able to see the hope that is in every situation.
My Background and Approach
I earned my bachelors degree from Central Michigan University with a degree in Psychology, I then went on to earn my Masters in Marriage and Family therapy from Western Michigan University. I am a Limited Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor. I specialize in working with couples, families, children, adolescent females, and young adult females. I have experience in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, life changes, self-worth and self esteem. My approach is relational and I believe that though positive relationship respect, re-framing, and change occurs. I also believe in a holistic approach to counseling where the mind, body and spirit are all linked and are addressed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view myself from a holistic point of view; understanding the importance for my well-being to attend to my mind, body, and spirit. I am an avid outdoors person, and fill up my cup by spending time in nature with the ones I love. I find freedom in moving my body regularly through yoga or walking. I nourish my spirit through my church community. I have a passion for meeting people where they are at, and understanding that what works for me does not work for everyone. I also volunteer some of my time to local middle schools presenting on healthy relationships and self-talk, believing that knowledge is power.
