About My Clients
Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or a general sense of uncertainty and overwhelm? Is the state of your life, and the world around you, making it difficult to find balance, meaning, or be present? Are you seeking an engaging, interactive therapist with a large knowledge of helpful tools, an open and non-judgemental values system, and an insatiable curiosity to know and help you? That's me. I work with creatives, LGBTQ+ folx, fellow therapists, high-achievers and UHNWI's.
My Background and Approach
For over 10 years, I've focused my practice on helping people get UNSTUCK: from trauma, from major depressive episodes, from crippling anxiety and panic, and from the destabilization of major life changes. Work with me involves first identifying your present symptoms and challenges and immediately coming up with plans to address those. This often involves behavioral interventions, teaching you physical and cognitive coping strategies and skills to help you self-regulate when you feel overwhelmed, brainstorming solutions-focused strategies to solve current problems, assigning written reflections, and offering executive function and daily coaching where appropriate. As your present symptoms start to feel more manageable, our work can deepen, delving into the past and using interventions that have been research proven to help people rewire their brains.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is grounded in a deep reverence for the healing power of talk, and connection. I am very confident in my ability to offer you specific tools or interventions to meet your goals, but I also know that the most successful therapeutic experiences happen when clients consistently and intentionally show up to a space that is theirs and in which they feel seen, held and supported by their therapist. It's an honor to show up for you. I am also a strong proponent of the power of nature to help regulate the nervous system. Many of the "normal" ways in which we are asked to live and move through society today actually CREATE feelings of anxiety, unhappiness and distress. There are simple but profound ways to regulate our nervous systems by putting down screens, going outside, moving our bodies, and noticing and engaging with the world around us. I would love to talk to you about the neuroscience behind how nature, movement, and creativity can radically improve mental health.
