About My Clients
I enjoy working with people who are interested in exploring their inner world and are self-reflective, or hope to increase these capacities. Any symptom or issue can be explored and resolved best through a curiosity about its underlying meaning. I have particular expertise and interest in working with mid and later life issues and Conscious Aging. I also am especially interested in issues of work-life balance which are impacting most people in this digital age. I
My Background and Approach
I believe that the relationship we develop helps facilitate your growth and self-awareness. I provide psychotherapy with a Relational, Jungian, and Transpersonal perspective that includes a holistic Mind-Body awareness. We mostly will engage in "Talk Therapy" which works well if you are curious about yourself, are self-reflective, and would like to develop more self-awareness in addition to changing your behavior. It also requires a desire for honesty and truth, which at times will require tolerating vulnerable and painful feelings. Sometimes thought and words alone are not sufficient in therapy to express what is being felt or experienced, in which case we may work with your dreams, imagery and sandtray.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a long history of social and political activism. I am passionate about peace, immigration and justice issues worldwide. I am bilingual Spanish, and although I am not bicultural, I have significant experience with various Latinx cultures here and in other countries. I have worked with a wide variety of clients from different ethnicities, cultures, countries, religions, socio-economic groups, as well as LGBTQ. I enjoy the diversity in the SF Bay Area that also is reflected in my practice.
