About My Clients
I enjoy working with individuals ages 10+, couples, and families from all gender, racial, and cultural backgrounds. I am especially passionate about supporting clients in exploring their identities and navigating neurodivergence, past and current traumatic experiences, and relationship challenges. Additionally, I assist clients facing anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders, low self-esteem, shame, and overwhelming life changes.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker at Lilium Center. I received both my Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Minnesota. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in community-based and outpatient settings, where I have provided case management services and psychotherapy. I strive to integrate elements of different therapeutic modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, into my practice to cater to each client's unique needs. My therapeutic approach is grounded in a commitment to social justice and trauma-informed care, and I draw heavily from Attachment Theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about using an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, neurodivergent-affirming, and trauma-informed lens to provide a safe and validating space for all individuals. As a therapist who has been diagnosed with ADHD, I am especially passionate about deconstructing stereotypes and harmful labels that are placed on neurodivergent individuals that perpetuate shame and stigma. Living as a neurodivergent individual in a neurotypical world can be traumatic; therefore, it is imperative for both neurodivergent and neurotypical folks to develop a compassionate understanding of the "why" behind attention and executive functioning challenges and celebrate the unique strengths of neurodivergent individuals.
