About My Clients
I work with individuals experiencing pregnancy and postpartum issues, including anxiety and depression, grief and loss, and trauma; and the many stressors parenting presents us with. I work with couples who want to connect more deeply, understand each other better, and learn how to better reach out for and offer support to the person they care about, no matter what stage they are in their journey.
My Background and Approach
My practice is fundamentally informed by attachment science and respect for our human longing for love and belonging, as well as the belief that we are all trying to do the best we can with what we've learned. I'm trained in perinatal mental health, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT, level 1 & 2) for trauma and traumatic loss, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT Externship), as well as other modalities. I received by MSW from Boston University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Unexpected difficulties can change the way we feel about ourselves and the people around us, and leave us feeling alone, overwhelmed and anxious, even in the best relationships. Working together, we can find our way through, to understand ourselves more deeply, reconnect with people around us, and create a better way forward. Many of my clients focus on taking care of the needs of others, while ignoring their own. In a compassionate space, free of judgment or pressure, they can finally pause, breathe, and, with support, face those feelings we work hard to avoid. Accepting our imperfect selves and sharing our painful experiences can open the door to a more wholehearted, authentic life.
