About My Clients
You might be feeling stressed, lost, confused, overwhelmed, or stuck. Your thoughts and emotions feel “too much” that you just want them to stop. Maybe you've had enough of behavior patterns that get in the way of your self and your relationships. Maybe you've experienced life events that hold you back from being your most self. Or maybe you are unsure of where to even start. But here you are open to learning different ways of coping, being, and living. I'm here to help guide in your journey.
My Background and Approach
I completed my M.S. in counseling from CSU Fullerton and I have provided psychotherapy in school, community mental health, and private practice settings. I am experienced in working with children, teens, adults, and couples with various mental health issues. I am also a researcher and have presented about Asian American and specifically Filipinx/a/o American mental health in multiple conferences and panels. As a therapist, I strive to create a warm, nurturing, genuine, and empowering working relationship. Together we can create a space to process and explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences; and also a space to learn skills to help you learn, or unlearn practices to be more in alignment with your current goals and values. I also like integrating different interventions including somatic (mind-body related), self-compassion, mindfulness, and creative arts practices in therapy when appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is for everyone, but not all therapy is for everyone. It's important to find a therapist who can honor your values, beliefs, and identities. I value genuineness and safety in the therapeutic relationship. I am committed to providing culturally responsive and affirming care, especially for clients with marignalized and minoritized identities. I aim to decolonize my therapy practice and welcome non-Western approaches to healing.
