About My Clients
You want to be the best version of yourself, but something’s in the way—painful relationship dynamics, a static work life, stressful parenting, feeling othered because of your identity, or anxiety that keeps you small. You are stuck. I want to help you reconnect with your most authentic self. I work with individual adults, couples, and children navigating anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ issues, communication struggles, parenting challenges, and creative blocks.
My Background and Approach
My approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and respect for your lived experience. My work is strength-based and value-oriented. I draw from Narrative, Gestalt, Gottman, and attachment-based modalities. Our work might include thoughtful dialogue, creative exploration, humor, and honest reflection. I may gently challenge internalized “shoulds” that no longer serve you, with support and care. Let’s start there. You’ve already taken a big step by looking for a therapist. If anything I’ve said resonates with you, I invite you to schedule a free consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly align with what's called the paradoxical theory of change, which suggests that change occurs when people become more fully themselves. I value authenticity, and I want to help others realize how they can be authentic. As a native New Yorker, gay man, and a former entertainment industry professional being real is so important to me. I understand that messages from society, family, and media can disrupt our connection to ourselves. What stories are we telling ourselves that we can dispose of? It's important to me to help people not feel othered by their overlapping identities. I want clients to discover how their identities can be superpowers rather than hindrances. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and an antiracist ally for people of color. I hope we can connect and learn more about each other.
