About My Clients
My clients have reached a point in their lives where they realize change is needed to get themselves back on track and where they want to be in life. Therapy requires a certain level of commitment both to the therapeutic process and to the client's self. As the therapy process unfolds, client's will begin to learn new things about themselves and develop new insights about the past, present and future. The reward comes not only from the end result, but through the process of arriving there.
My Background and Approach
I began my career in clinical mental health counseling in 2016. Since that time, I have worked full time in a number of diverse roles in the field of mental health. They include short term and long term outpatient therapy, drug and alcohol assessments, crisis intervention and hospital based psychiatric evaluations. This has allowed me to accumulate a wide range of knowledge in approaches to counseling and about people themselves. I have developed a very down to earth style of therapy that clients have found to be unintimidating and enjoyable. The environment is very much a safe and non-judgmental place where people can talk about their thoughts and feelings. While there are many different approaches to counseling, I have found that you have to match the person to the approach because everyone's needs are different.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal belief is that everyone deserves to be happy and live their best life. I also believe that most people already have the answers to most of the questions they seek; the answers just haven't become apparent yet. Through the therapy process, one's insight and understanding will expand to make those answers known. I don't believe any therapist's job is to provide answers but to provide the foundation and space for a person to learn about themselves on their own.
