About My Clients

In my work, I have the pleasure of working with adults, young adults, elders, Veterans, and the LGBTQIA+ community. One of the primary goals of our therapeutic sessions together is to hold a space where people can feel safe as they explore, grow, and heal through the very concerns that brought them to therapy. I look forward to working with you.

My Background and Approach

My professional career spans over 35 years, combining multiple career paths in industry, mental and physical health, and massage and bodywork. My areas of expertise include mood disorders, anxiety, depression, anger, chronic mental illness, substance abuse, PTSD, trauma, pain, chronic medical conditions, loss and grief, and gender incongruence, along with education and wellness. My work is influenced by several schools of psychotherapy and somatic practices, all of which help people to understand their bodies, injuries, emotional lives, relationships, illnesses and personal dynamics as part of their healing process. I am a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and I have worked in the South Florida community for over 25 years as a Clinical Social Worker in agency, hospital, and clinic settings.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning community+ has struggled, fought, and evolved over the last several decades to establish a voice and presence in our world. And LGBTQIA+ people all over the world must constantly continue to fight to maintain this presence. Yet many folks continue to feel marginalized and disenfranchised, as the community must continue to bear the brunt of discrimination, attack, and hate. With over 30 years of advocacy, activism, and support within the LGBTQ+ community, I am proud to serve as a catalyst for change, so that people might rise up toward feeling celebrated, honored, and empowered. I am culturally competent to work with the unique and sensitive needs of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Areas include, relationships, self-esteem, health, and gender identity.
