About My Clients
Are you caught in an anxious spiral? Do painful thoughts cause knee-jerk reactions that hurt you or your relationships? Are you so stuck in patterns of thought that you cannot be present in the moment? In your body? Uncertainty and fear are facts of life and anxiety's function is to protect us from things that could hurt us. Anxiety means well, but usually it ends up doing more harm than good, robbing us of the experiences and relationships that could bring us joy - I'm here to help with that.
My Background and Approach
Specializing in relationship and sexual issues, I work with both couples and individuals to treat anxiety and other factors impacting their ability to connect securely and deeply with themselves and others. My approach to therapy is relational, inclusive and trauma-informed. I serve as an ally to my clients and provide them with a space to explore their deepest truths without fear of judgment. I work with my clients to cultivate deep insights, self-compassion and to accept and embrace their humanity. Our therapeutic journey will be one of courage, constructive discomfort, and ultimately, clarity. My role as a therapist is to accompany you on this journey, to guide, encourage and, most importantly, protect you as you grow in your awareness and understanding. As your therapist, I place great emphasis on our connection and rapport; I cherish laughter as well as tears; and I will ask of you only what is safe to explore.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have lived in Oregon almost my whole life and am deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest. In my free time I am training for half marathons, planning my next backpacking trip and hosting board game nights. I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200). I hold a BA from the University of Oregon and an MS in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and am a registered LPC Intern under the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. I am also a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) completing my requirements to become a Certified Sex Therapist. My practice is an inclusive and safe space for all - no exceptions. My practice is diverse, sex positive, LGBTQ-allied, kink-friendly and poly / ENM competent. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to ensure we are a good fit. If not, I will happily point you towards other therapists and resources to help you on your journey.
