In the process of growing up, many children and teens experience difficulties adjusting at some time. When emotional and behavioral issues negatively affect a child's ability to function in their daily lives, therapy can be a path to wellness. Child therapy helps children and adolescents explore their feelings and experiences in a safe, accepting environment. Child therapists assist children in learning strategies for managing their emotions and challenges that affect their mental health.

Anxiety is the most common mental illness in the United States. While we all experience natural levels of worry throughout our life, anxiety refers to excessive and/or unrealistic worry that is difficult to control and occurs consistently. My goal is to assist you in discovering the root of your anxious thoughts, help you determine the most effective options for treating your symptoms, and and to increase your toolbox of coping skills.

An attachment disorder is a condition that affects mood or behavior and makes it difficult for people to form and maintain relationships with others. This condition usually begin in early childhood, but attachment issues may also persist into adulthood. Attachment issues are not an official diagnosis, but people use the term to refer to an insecure attachment style in adults. Adults with insecure attachment styles may express avoidance in relationships or behave in disorganized/inconsistent ways

Attachment-based therapy aims to build or rebuild a trusting, supportive relationship that will help prevent or treat mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. An attachment-based approach to therapy looks at the connection between an infant’s early attachment experiences with primary caregivers, usually with parents, and the infant’s ability to develop normally and ultimately form healthy emotional and physical relationships as an adult.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy based on the idea that the way one thinks and feels affects the way they behave. CBT aims to help clients resolve present-day challenges like depression or anxiety, relationship problems, stress, or other common concerns that negatively affect mental health and quality of life. The goal of treatment is to help clients identify, challenge & change maladaptive thought patterns in order to change their responses to difficult situations.

Person-centered therapy, also known as Rogerian therapy or client-based therapy, employs a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in sessions such that, in the process, they discover their own solutions.
